Texas mass shooting has left eight victims’ families and others in the dark. Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy, from Hyderabad, was one of the victims in the shooting case. The mortal remains of her are said to arrive in India soon
The shooting in Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday has left Texas in a state of shock. Two school-age children, James Cho (Child), Cho Kyu Song, 37, and Kang Shin Young, 35 (Cho’s parents), and Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy, a woman from Hyderabad, were among the eight people killed in the mass shooting.
According to the local police authority, the gunfire began at 3:30 p.m. Furthermore, the video circulating on social media appears to depict the horror of the murder, with people observed fleeing to a safe location while guarding their families.
The gunman’s motive is unknown, as he was declared dead alongside his eight victims. However, according to law enforcement officials, the murder may have been motivated by white supremacist ideology.
The heart-wrenching incident has now called for stricter gun laws in the United States.
Moving further, Thantikonda Aishwarya Reddy, the woman from Hyderabad, is an engineer, who was about to settle in the U.S. after nine years of hard work.
“She told me she had planned to go to that mall to purchase clothes and other items she wanted for the birthday. She was looking forward to celebrating after a long time. She also told us a number of Indian students had decided to gather there on the weekend for a get-together, and the invite was circulated on social media,”, said advocate T Srinivas Reddy, victim’s cousin in one interview.
Aishwarya went to the U.S. in pursuit of her education. She completed her civil engineering degree at Osmania University in 2018 before moving to the United States to pursue an MS in construction management at Eastern Michigan University.
After her education, she had planned to settle in the U.S., with the decent job she got. With all the plans and ambitions ahead, her life was snatched away by an unknown gunman, who had no reason to kill, whatsoever.
