India-Pakistan football team will face each other after five years. Both the countries have been included in the same group in the 14th South Asian Football Confederation Cup to be held from June 21 to July 4.
The draw was made on Wednesday and defending champions India, Pakistan, Kuwait and Nepal have been drawn in Group A, while Lebanon, Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan have been drawn in Group B. The eight-nation tournament will be held at the Kantirva Stadium in Bangalore. To make the competition more exciting, two countries outside South Asia, Lebanon and Kuwait, have been invited.

Lebanon is the best ranked team going into the tournament with 99th position. Pakistan’s ranking is 195, while India is at 101. In 2018 India-Pakistan match was played in Dhaka. India won this match 3-1. However, India lost 1-2 against Maldives in the final match. India and Pakistan have played more than 20 international matches in total. India has won more than 12 matches while maintaining dominance.
