Rise of “convenient” interaction
The Covid-19 pandemic was transformative in many ways. However, one of the biggest changes it brought to the world was a shift in communication. According to Korn Ferry, more than 85 million jobs could go unfulfilled by 2030 because there aren’t enough skilled people to take them. Contrary to popular belief, the report challenges perceptions by stating how AI is taking over jobs because there aren’t enough humans to take them. Much of this shortage is because of demographic conditions.
Japan is known to have a weak age pyramid. This puts the country at risk since people occupying the workforce are in constant decline. Therefore, people needed to occupy jobs are depreciating. Japan has also experienced low birth rates meaning, leading up to the future, Japan is expected to encounter the same problem.
Similar problems plague the lands of Europe as well. United States faces the similar issue as well. However, its problem seems to be much more severe. By 2030, majority of the American workforce is expected to retire, this will leave the responsibility in the hands of the younger generation who, unfortunately, won’t have enough time to acquire the training required to occupy the high-skilled jobs left behind.
The extraction of workforce
While business in the west is projected to struggle, South-East nations like India are expected to overwhelm their workforce departments. Boasting a healthy age pyramid and an educated workforce, Indian employees trained in high-skilled institutions can be employed through remote interaction.
Since, a workforce deficiency would lower the developmental rates of western powerhouses like the US, India will find itself at the helm of a faster developmental rate than other nations who will simply struggle to find success with their employee deficit corporations. The rates of AI development simply do not coincide with the drainage of employees. Therefore, the need to adopt remote interaction remains crucial.
If Indian employees struggle to fit into the work environment in the foreign countries, through remote interactions companies can find it convenient to accumulate their ideas on their related specializations. Remote interaction will also ensure that solutions for a certain problem can be discovered quickly and efficiently, since the medium of interaction is convenient for all.
While the threat of AI looms over workforce occupations, it is important to divulge into the reasons for such a transition. If humans can acquire high-skills and show the willingness to participate in the workforce, AI’s participation will reduce significantly. With western job markets navigating their path to employee fulfillment, the anxiety over unemployment seems to be unnecessary.
